ARM Aerial Facility Isokinetic Inlet (aafinletisok)

Browse Data

An isokinetic (ISOK) inlet samples particles from the free stream of air at the same velocity as the free stream as to ensure that the streamlines and particle trajectories are straight and isokinetic . The data presented here is more akin to housekeeping to provide end users with basic environmental conditions. For a flag for which inlet cabin instrumentation was sampling from, see INLETCVI-AIR.

Included variables in this dataset are cabin temperature, inlet temperature, inlet pressure, and inlet relative humidity. The ARM data source OPC-AIR is another inlet housekeeping dataset providing information about coarse mode aerosol size distribution which may be used for assessment of the integrity and transmission of the incoming sample aerosol. Please note neither of these datasets are meant for scientific analysis and are published in the spirit of transparency to demonstrate the quality of data associated with the inlet.
