Affected Datastreams: grwmergesonde1maceM1.c1
Description See below for details of reprocessing that was completed on 20150209. Original DQR category: 3 (Yellow, Suspect). ----------------------------------------------------------- MERGESONDE sometimes uses bad or questionable precipitable water vapor data to scale the relative humidity profiles provided by the rh_scaled field. In addition, this bad input data is not properly indicated by the vapor_source or qc_rh_scaled fields. This problem appears to typically occur when there is moisture impacting the microwave radiometer causing large spikes in brightness temperatures. During these periods the rh_scaled values are often saturated at 101% for much of the profile. A new version of the MERGESONDE VAP has corrected this problem, and these data will eventually be corrected by a reprocessing task.
Measurements
  • rh_scaled (Relative Humidity Scaled Using MWR)
  • vapor_source (Source of the MWR Data used to Produce Scaled RH Field)

Subject: GRW/SONDE/M1 - Reprocessed and Corrected:Initial station altitude incorrect
Affected Datastreams: grwsondewnpnM1.b1
Description DATA REPROCESSED and CORRECTED: The initial station altitude was entered incorrectly. All altitude values were too low by 11m. The original altitude reported in the data was 15m. The correct value is now 26m. The data were archived in March 2017. Please retrieve the reprocessed data for use in your analysis. You may find these data using the ARM Discovery tool at the following link: http://www.archive.arm.gov/discovery/#v/results/s/finst::sonde/fsite::grw/ffac::grw.M1 ORIGINAL DQR CATEGORY: Red( Incorrect) REPROCESSED and CORRECTED DATA ARCHIVED:2017-03 REPROCESS IDENTIFICATION NUMBER: RID 1524 --------------------------------------------------- --- ORIGINAL DQR DESCRIPTION --- --------------------------------------------------- The initial station altitude was entered incorrectly. All altitude values too low by 11m. The altitude reported in the data is 15m. The correct value is 26m.
Measurements

Subject: GRW/SONDE/M1 - Reprocessing Notice (RID 1032)
Affected Datastreams: grwsondewnpnM1.b1
Description See below for details of reprocessing that was completed on 20140822. Original DQR category: 4 (Red, Incorrect ). ----------------------------------------------------------- Beginning with 20090513.2329 launch, the longitude has an incorrect sign. Correct initial longitude is -28.03. These files have +28.03. The data will need to be reprocess at the DMF by correcting the beginning longitude in the *.parsed files and re-ingesting.
Measurements
  • lon (East longitude)
  • lon (east longitude)
