Subject:
TWP/KAZR/C1/C3 - Reprocessing Notice (RID 1118)
DataStreams:twpkazrgeC1.a1
Description:
See below for details of reprocessing that was completed on 20150626. Original
DQR category: 4 (Red, Incorrect).

-----------------------------------------------------------

The wrong calibrations were used due to a problem with the software. Mentor discovered the
reflectivity between long and short pulse did not agree with each other after analyzing
data. Data will be reprocessed.
Measurements:twpkazrgeC1.a1:
  • Reflectivity, cross-polarization(reflectivity_xpol)
  • Reflectivity,co-polarization(reflectivity_copol)

Subject:
TMP/MWACR/M1 - Snow Buildup
DataStreams:tmpmwacrM1.a1
Description:
There was potentially a build up of snow on the instrument causing large differences in
the reflectivity as compared with the KAZR.
Measurements:tmpmwacrM1.a1:
  • Spectral width(spectral_width)
  • Mean Doppler Velocity(mean_doppler_velocity)
  • Daily values of reflectivity on each grid cell(reflectivity)

TMP/MWACR/M1 - Possible antenna offset from zenith
DataStreams:tmpmwacrM1.a1
Description:
A preliminary analysis of vertically-pointing Doppler velocity from all four radars at the
site (KAZR, MWACR, KaSACR and XSACR) suggests that MWACR may have a systematic velocity
bias. The bias appears to depend on height and wind profile, suggesting it could be
caused by mispointing of the MWACR. A more detailed study of the radars plus sounding
information indicates the MWACR is mispointed by approximately 1 degree from zenith, into
azimuth direction of 75 degrees from North.
Measurements:tmpmwacrM1.a1:
  • Spectral width(spectral_width)
  • Mean Doppler Velocity(mean_doppler_velocity)
  • Daily values of reflectivity on each grid cell(reflectivity)
