The shadowband appears to have slipped sometime overnight between 20111211 and 20121212.  
Due to overcast conditions at the time, it is difficult to say exactly when the problem 
started. On 1/9, the shadowband power cord was found to be not securely connected.

impending failure the prior month, but the mentor elected not to include those days in this

Description:
The heater board was bad from the start of the deployment.  It was not immediately 
apparent for two reasons.  One, the 500 channel was bad and it was dominating the data plots.  
Two, the bad heater board wasn't causing the head temps to behave erratically, but was 
causing noise in the irradiance channels.  Once the head was replaced to deal with the 
failed 500 channel, it then became obvious the heater board was also faulty.  Do not use data 
covered by this DQR.

Severe storms and a tornado passed very near the E31 facility on 4/15.  Something happened 
that caused the data covered by this DQR to look very strange.  The instrument must have

SGP/MFRSR/E34 - Problem with nighttime offset values

Description:
Sensor offset values are calculated each night, and at SGP, are applied at 1900 UTC each 
day.  Typically there is very little variation from night-to-night.  At EF-34 we were 
seeing significant steps in the data at 1900 UTC that were attributed to the offset values 
changing substantially.  The cause looks like it might be the linear heater board that was 
in place during the period covered by this DQR.  Note that we replaced the heater board 
on 20120702 which is a bit more than two months after the end of this DQR.  No steps were 
seen after 20120424.  The reason likely being by the 24th it was well into spring and 
approaching summer, and large air temperature changes from day-to-day were not occurring.

Without getting into the gory details here, nighttime offset values are strongly 
influenced by ambient temperature.  Below is a list of days when a step is seen at 1900 UTC:

A shading problem was first noticable on 20121106.  Affected hours are 1700 UTC to 2130 
UTC.  Regular maintenance caught the problem on 20121203 and it was resolved at 1816 UTC.

Description:
The input measurement range was not set correctly resulting in "fuzzy" data.  The 
magnitudes are correct, but instead of pencil thin traces, it looks like the plots were drawn 
with a thick marker.  

The data should still be usable.
