periods are 4/15-5/15 and 7/28-8/27 annually.

After a data outage 01/13 through 01/15, the solar tracker was inoperative until site 
operations corrected on 01/20.  

Another apparent power problem may have caused the tracker to not restart the morning of 
02/21.  It was reset by site operations on 03/04.

All tracker related datastreams are affected: short_direct_normal (NIP), 
down_short_diffuse_hemispheric (8-48) and possibly the down_long_hemispheric (PIR) although it is not 
apparent in the reviewed data for the affected timeframe.

This facility is being decommissioned and maintenance efforts ceased 10/1/2009.  
Instrument was removed from service 10/14/2009.

The down_short_hemisp, down_long_shaded_hemisp and up_long_hemisp values drop out and 
spike during this time period due to a failing multiplexer. The problem was progressive and 
after 9/19 the mux had completely failed and those values go completely missing.  

The problem was not resolved since the site was scheduled for decommissioning. Preventive

Description:
The upwelling shortwave hemispheric data were bad 20090914-20091009 due to a broken 
instrument cable.  The cable was replaced on 10/09 at 1711 GMT but the leads were reversed. The 
leads were corrected 10/19 at 2001 GMT.

The data for 20090914-20091019 have been reprocessed. The bad data from 20090914-20091009 
were set to missing in the newly available reprocessed data set. The 20091009-20091019 
data were corrected by applying a (-1) multiplier.

Description:
The upwelling IR PIR instrument (up_long_hemisp) had bad connections during this time 
period.  The case thermistor (Mux set #2) was reading erratic values and corrupting the 
up_long_hemisp data completely. 

The net_ir was valid but cannot be corrected without the case thermistor measurement to 
determine the incoming IR (i.e. up_long_hemisp).

Description:
On clear days, the down_short_hemisp data (PSP instrument) exhibit asymmetry in its daily 
output curve especially when compared to derived downwelling shortwave.  Ops corrected 
the problem by re-leveling the PSP on 3/16/2010. The issue may likely be due to a slowly 
sinking platform at this site or inadvertent loosening of instrument hold down screws.  

Problem may have developed slowly over the last year.  Corrections are not easily 
quantifiable.  Suggest using derived downwelling shortwave which is not dependent on the PSP 
instrument:

derived DS = down_short_diffuse + short_direct_normal * cos(zenith angle)
