Description:
Chunks of MFRSR data are missing during 20050514 - 20050712.  After maintenance was 
performed on 20050712 the 415, 500 and 940 nm channels are available, and while they look OK, 
they should be used with caution.

MFRSR data may be missing or zero; some tests on best estimate global shortwave cannot be 
applied.  BEGSW could be incorrect if MFRSR data used in tests or fits.

Description:
Surface meteorological data were missing during these time periods. Met data is used in a 
variety of quality control checks described below.

Air temperature data is needed for tests on LW up and LW down pyrgeometer case and dome 
temperatures, and tests on the irradiances from upwelling LW/SW and downwelling LW.

The Rayleigh limit diffuse radiation test is based on surface pressure.

8-48) instrument had intermittent missing values. Technicians found a loose wire on the 
instrument connector and repaired it on 4/4/2006. 

This means that Best Estimate Global can't be calculated from the sum of direct and 
diffuse. It also means that some quality checks can't be done.
