Subject:
SGP/EBBR/E15 - Sensible and Latent Heat Fluxes Low
(Net Radiation too low)
DataStreams:sgp5ebbrE15.b1, sgp15ebbrE15.b1, sgp30ebbrE15.b1
Description:
Sensible and Latent Heat Fluxes were measured as being low because of damage to the net
radiometer.

The Sensible and Latent Heat fluxes can be approximated by taking the ratio of the daytime
SIRS net radiation to EBBR net radiation, and then multiplying the Sensible and Latent
Heat Fluxes by that ratio.
Measurements:sgp5ebbrE15.b1:
  • Radiation, net(net_radiation)

sgp30ebbrE15.b1:
  • Heat flux, latent, at 1.5-m height, 30-min intervals(latent_heat_flux)
  • Radiation, net(net_radiation)
  • Heat flux, sensible, at 1.5-m height, 30-min intervals(sensible_heat_flux)

sgp15ebbrE15.b1:
  • net_radiation_mv

Subject:
SGP/EBBR/E9 - Sensible and latent heat flux incorrect
DataStreams:sgp15ebbrE9.b1, sgp30ebbrE9.b1
Description:
Sensible and latent heat fluxes were sometimes incorrect when soil temperature 4 and soil
moisture 4 were acting up.

Sometimes the sensible and latent heat fluxes are indicated as incorrect by an offscale
reading produced by the data logger error checking routine. This occurs mostly during
daytime. However, you will have to examine the soil moisture 4 and soil temperature 4 data
to see when they were incorrect or offscale to determine all times for which sensible and
latent heat fluxes were incorrect.
Measurements:sgp30ebbrE9.b1:
  • Average soil heat flow at the surface(surface_soil_heat_flux_avg)
  • surface_soil_heat_flux_4
  • Heat flux, sensible, at 1.5-m height, 30-min intervals(sensible_heat_flux)
  • Heat flux, latent, at 1.5-m height, 30-min intervals(latent_heat_flux)
  • soil_temp_4
  • soil_moisture_4

sgp15ebbrE9.b1:
  • soil_temp_4_rr
  • soil_moisture_4_r
  • soil_moisture_4_rr
