NIM/WACR/M1 - No crosspolarization data
DataStreams:nimwacrM1.00, nimwacrM1.b1
Description:
When the spectra disk was swapped, an erroneous configuration file was generated that
resulted in only copol measurements. The averaging was also 1/2 of its normal value
resulting in data files two times their normal size.
Measurements:nimwacrM1.00:
  • AVHRR satellite images for Darwin from BOM (RAW)(raw)

nimwacrM1.b1:
  • Polarization
  • Cloud, reflectivity, at altitude(Reflectivity)
  • MMCR Mean Doppler Velocity(MeanDopplerVelocity)
  • MMCR Spectral Width(SpectralWidth)

Subject:
NIM/WACR/M1 - Reflectivity and Height Offsets
DataStreams:nimwacrM1.b1, nimwacrspeccmaskxpolM1.a0, nimwacrspeccmaskcopolM1.a0
Description:
The instrument vendor has informed us of a range (height) offset of 13 m and has provided
an updated reflectivity calibration. All values reported for 'Reflectivity' are
approximately 1.5 dB too low. In addition, the Reflectivity in the first and fourth range
gates (starting from the surface) need to be further corrected by an additional 2.7 and -0.9
dB, respectively. The 'height' field values are 13.33 m too low. The data will be
reprocessed to correct these problems.
Measurements:nimwacrspeccmaskxpolM1.a0:
  • Cloud, reflectivity, at altitude(Reflectivity)
  • heights

nimwacrspeccmaskcopolM1.a0:
  • Cloud, reflectivity, at altitude(Reflectivity)
  • heights

nimwacrM1.b1:
  • heights
  • Cloud, reflectivity, at altitude(Reflectivity)
