Soil heat flow 5 was either too large negative or negative when it should have been 
positive; the cause of the negative offset is unknown, but is often the result of a failed 
J-panel over-voltage protection device.

Average soil heat flow, sensible heat flux, and latent heat flux were affected; these can 
be recalculated using the remaining good sets of soil sensors as follows:

ave_shf = (g1 + g2 + g3 + g4)/4

e = -(q + ave_shf)/(1 + bowen)

h = -(q + e + ave_shf)
