NIP s/n 30722E6 on July 18, 2000 was -2.6% to +4.8%.  

Data from NIP s/n 30722E6 can be adjusted according to the in-situ comparisons to reduce 
the apparent measurement bias.

Description:
The wind sensor bearings were failing causing the wind speed sensor to report lower than 
actual wind speeds when the winds were below 2 m/s.  The wind monitor was replaced on 
05/29/2007 but this failed to correct the problem.  Subsequently, the site was flooded and it 
took some time to re-establish normal operations.  The wind sensor was again replaced on 
10/30/2007.  After replacement the wind data from the SMOS compared more favorably to 
the co-located EBBR data.
