Description:
During the time periods specified, the SMOS.E13 tower was
lowered for 6-month Calibration Checks.  During these times 
wind data are incorrect and temperature and humidity data 
may be incorrect.

Note, exact times when tower was down or maintenance was
being performed is sometimes unknown.  Users should use
the remaining data from these days with caution.

Description:
The values of relative humidity reported by the SMOS at E13 between 
18 NOV 96 and 1930 GMT on 30 JAN 97 are too high.  Saturation values
of 104% to 105% have been reported during this period.  A 6-month 
Verification Check was made on 18 NOV 96 and the SMOS probe did not
agree with the reference at that time.  The SMOS probe was finally 
replaced on 30 JAN 97.  Data reported since that time appears reasonable.
