Description: | I recently compared SuomiNet data from SGP-C1 with the MWR; the agreement was not as good
as previously obtained, with a slope of 0.91. Others (Belay Demoz, David Whiteman at
NASA/GSFC) have observed this as well. Teresa Van Hove explained this as follows:
"The problem that caused the 0.91 slope started May 2005; before
that I was fixing the IGS sites not just constraining them so there was not the
inconsistency. I will still break in our new cpu's by reprocessing older data with the
a NWM to calculate the conversion factor from delay to PW and some other processing
options. I have the B50 results from about day 170 (mid May) 2005 to now and I will post
these .PWV files to the datacrunch area for GSFC and I will re-send them via LDM to the
Suominet community (starting with just 2006). The LDM reposting will probably happen
monday Sep 18. I want to give a heads up to the community before resending 250 days worth
of data."
The data from the TWP and NSA sites are processed differently and so are not affected by
the problem. |
